To our wonderful vendors.....

Black Friday is such a hectic time. Folks are out shopping for bargains or even working the stores themselves providing those bargains.

Some of us are also preparing for shows on Black Friday or the following Saturday.

I would offer this for consideration. What about offering your specials on Thanksgiving Day? There may be more opportunity for some of us to get up early to review the sales offerings before they get completely picked over. I cannot review what you'll offer until about 10:00 pm that evening when I return from a show.

I'm just trying to get an opportunity to compete for the good stuff.
Anyone have other feelings? Some may want as little competition as possible.

Speaking only for Exotics, thanks for the feedback!!!
How would you feel about Wednesday (we have been considering that, as well)?

Does it have to be a 1 day sale? Why not the weekend? IMHO the more time people have to access sales, the more chance you have to make a sale.

Chip,

We are afraid of too great a response, to be honest.

We are stocking up with resin and kits, etc. But a GREAT sale could drive us back to the suppliers and the "casting kitchen".

Preview: We will be trying a "blue-light special" approach-- orders placed in the "time window" will receive FREE premiums.

This will be the first time we have tried this.
We work on tight margins as it is (try to give everyone the best possible price, year round), so this is an experiment that could backfire.

Hope that gives you a "flavor" of what we want to do.

Mostly we are trying to get some of the "old excitement" back into some of the threads.

Nothing ventured........................:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Not being a vendor, I didn't think about it that way, but now that you've pointed out the pitfalls, I understand totally Ed. I and others have always appreciated your and Dawn's quality control and inventory quality control efforts. You only try to advertise what you have in stock, and I for one appreciate that. I also appreciate the prices!!

I also realize that you don't have hundred's of thousands of dollars for overhead and a large warehouse to stash your inventory.

One of the reasons I like shopping with MVV's is the fact that you do offer personal service, great quality control, great customer service and quick shipping. So if it means that it has to be an 8 hour sale, so be it. I'd rather make the time to shop that sale than for Exotics to turn into something that isn't as excellent as it is now.

I hate those one day sales. First, I often don't have funds readily available to make such purchases. Second, I miss them even when I do have the funds. I agree with a different method proposed.

But in general, I would think web vendors would had specials differently than B&M shops.

I'm with you Travis, I hate those 'Back Friday' sales at the big box stores. There is a Best Buy here in Manchester that a couple made the news because they set up a tent LAST FRIDAY to be the first in line. When the reporter asked what they were going to buy, their response was "We don't know yet, we don't know what will be on sale."

I have never gone out shopping on Black Friday, and I hopefully never will.

I'm with you 100% there Chip. I tell people every year, If Walmart were to sell $100 bills for $5 it would still not be worth going there on Black Friday...

Now internet Black Friday Deals I'm all for.... may have to get up early and log on to get in line...

We will be posting and emailing our "Holiday Special" very soon. Like many of you, this holiday weekend we are very busy with family, work and other daily strife's. Because of this our specials will not be time or day restricted to give everyone equal opportunity. Stay tuned or watch your email if you have signed up for our announcements through our web site.

Do you guys that do shows have a preference for the "rerun"? Monday or Tuesday (either would be late afternoon and or evening).
