Tell me if this has only happened to me. Has any ever bought a set of bushings that looked alright but as soon as you tried to use them, you found out they were machined so out of round that you have to modify them just to get them to fit in the tube. After turning the pen, the bushing won't come out of the blank, consequently, destroying it trying to get the bushing out. After this happen a second time, I got angry and threw the bushings away. I'll have to buy more this weekend and hope the next ones are better.

I've never hand any quite that bad but I have had them tight in the tube, tight on the mandrel, to the degree that I had to ream them some, and I suppose a little out of round.

Yeah, I couldn't believe it. They looked fine but two of them wouldn't fit into the tubes and had to be introduced to Mr. bench grinder. Still no luck. After trashing an amboyna burl on the first try, modifying the bushings again, then trashing a claro walnut blank, then bushings found their way into the trash can at 90 mph.
