What is the best way to seal bloodwood to keep it from smearing into lighter colored wood when finishing? I just scored a bunch of scraps and was playing with it, but I'm not really happy leaving red skid marks. The first try was with Formby's Tung Oil, then I tried Minwax Polycrylic. Any ideas?

Right after you finish with the skew, coat lightly with thin CA.

Sand carefully and re-apply CA each time so you don't sand thru the CA.
