Hello, my name is David, and I have been turning pens for about 2 weeks now. I bought a lathe back in July and I practiced a little with spindle turning. Then I saw that you could make pens on the lathe and I was immediately interested. So far I have had lots of fun and I hope to learn more.

Welcome David. Looking forward to seeing some of your work.

I'm putting a few links in here for reference –
This link has postings by different pen turners on what they wish they had known earlier:

This link tells of some "out of the box" tools/aids for pen turners http://www.penturners.org/forum/showthread.php?t=66178

This one is a PDF on the acronyms used here. I am sure you know many but this will help with those you don't. http://content.penturners.org/articl...9/Acronyms.pdf

Welcome aboard, this is a great place to learn unbelievable techniques on pen turning, also there are a couple other pen turners from Pahrump on the site and several from Las Vegas as well.

Welcome David. I'm pretty new here too (turning pens for about two months) and have found a ton great info and inspiration here.

[Pahrump - reminds me of a Monty Python Movie...."I didn't get a Pahrump (harrump) out of that guy!"
Sorry Andrew but that's from Blazing Saddles. Still funny though...]
