I had a friend over and helped him make his first pen. A beautiful Rose Myrtle Burl on TiGold cigar. He now has the vortex spinning in his blood. Sadly he split before I could get a photo of it. I will try to get him to bring it back sometime soon for a photo op.

At least he helped clean up!!

He had me do the finish. CA. And I didn't get it right either. Sanded through near the centerband. But by then it was 10pm and he didn't want to take the time to refinish it so I did a "patch" with thin-CA just to seal the wood and he loved it.

Yesterday he sent me a couple of craigslist listings for lathes. Muahahahhahahaha

next big news in CA; "Greg is responsible for converting Pleasanton to turn'n." The Pen looks awesome

Pleasanton? Tri-Valley!! He is from San Ramon!!

But keep in mind that Ratto is the real instigator; he got me hooked! One little ol' sierra and the vortex was spinning in my blood! But you meet some of the nicest people in this hobby so I don't mind!

we just refurbished a VS lathe... the non-VS is just sitting over by the washing machine, feeling no love.

nope, no monster on it's way. We'll live vicariously thru yours for a while until the pull gets too great.
