I've had a couple of stiff 7mm transmissions...I have had them loosen up some by working them a lot...but it really wasn't satisfactory and I don't know how to introduce a lubrecant once the item is assembled. Some of the guys here seem to be able to change the transmission but I'm not one of them.
To remove a transmission you need a punch set. Slip the largest punch you can through the transmission and punch out the nib(it does no damage to the nib), now slip a larger punch through where the nib was and push out the transmission. You can try WD40 on the transmission, usually it's the protective coating that causes a stiff transmission and that takes care of it. If that doesn't do it just replace the transmission.
I know on the Euro, if you are just the slightest bit out of round on your tenon then the upper and lower barrel do not align perfectly and causes a stiffness when twisting. Carl
