Wood wedding band

I was asked by our local Jeweler if I could make a wood wedding band for one of his customers, so I gave it a try. Attached is a photo of my prototype. The Jeweler is also wearing one of these now.

That's really cool, Chris !! What type of wood ? .... and other material .... looks to be laminated.

It is Dark Tamboti, with Padauk in the centre and finished all round with CA/BLO to waterproof.

I'd love to see pictures of the process. I was just asked to make a wedding band out of lilac wood.... Especially Like to see how you put the blo/CA on.

I merely followed Capt. Eddie Castelin's U-Tube Video on "Making WoodRings" and finished with CA/BLO in the same way as I do with Pens (spinning on a drop of CA + drop of BLO together, on a piece of paper towel); I think there is a tutorial on this method on this site.

How thick is the band from inner diameter to outer diameter?

What glue for the lamination!?

Again it looks great.

Thickness of the band, inner to outer diameter is 2.4mm and I used medium CA for laminating.
