Can anyone take a stab at this one? Found this little burl sitting next to an ash tree while mushrooming..no trees real close by...was thinking walnut, but didn't smell like any walnut I've ever cut into. It's close to walnut color but a little redder than I'd expect. The smell was a little sweet and nutty. Can't wait to see how the blank turns out...Thanks for any and all info! George

I remember going mushrooming with my dad and brothers in Indiana and Illinois. And the morels are great coated with flour and fried. Living in the Dallas area of Texas I don't get to do that now. Hope you enjoy your find!
