vise lift for drilling long blanks

I got permission from Brian on the UK board to post these pictures of a jig he made for his grand daughter to drill long blanks. You raise the vise by rotating the half dowel under the vise.

Thank you for showing these here Sharon.
The half dowel is 1. 1/2 inch so it does give a good lift to the vise and helps the 50mm quill travel on the press.
This was just a sling together job to see if it would work, with the intention of making a screw table under the vise.
It actually works so well we haven't changed it yet.
