A few years ago someone on this site was converting regular pen mill cutterheads to carbide tipped by brazing on the tips. I had one 3/4" four tooth cutterhead done and absolutely love it. But I want to get a spare done and also one made up for my daughter. Unfortunately I have no idea who did this. Does anyone know who did theses conversions and have contact info for him?

No longer confused....
Perhaps it would be best to do a group purchase somewhere, say find a machine shop that could make custom tooling like this and get a group buy order for so many units. Could even add design features you want.

The new rules for the group buys don't allow to purchase items not yet produced.
I thought about a group buy for the carbide pen mills that had been made for myself by a Greek factory last year but... impossible according to the new rules...

That is garbage, otherwise tap/die sets would not be able to be purchased. Mods and custom tooling like this is very nature and purpose of the new group buy forum.

All this is good news.
But could you stay polite please? Maybe it's your case but I'm not accustomed with such terms in my discussions in the different woodworking forums.
Thanks in advance.

Sorry.

Group Purchase Research - International Association of Penturners

[FONT=&quot]Group Purchase Research will consist of posted questions and polls intended to assess the interest in, opinions about, or willingness of other members to participate in a Group Buy. Once it has been established that there is enough willingness to participate, the thread will be closed and a new post will be made in the Group Buy forum.
