I am starting to look around for a dedicated vacuum pump. I really don't have any knowledge in this area. Does anyone have any suggestions for a good pump?
While looking, most pumps show the vacuum that they produce in microns, I am only familiar with "inches of mercury". Are these two measurements the same? Is there a formula to convert microns to in-hg if they are not. Lastly, what is a good micron and/or in-hg rating for vacuum impregnating/stabilizing and dying?
Thanks
