Just finished off these twin 8" poplar bowls . For some strange reason they sell real good as my lowest priced basic bowls even though they are made from the cheapest hardwood available in my area . . It must be the color and the grain pattern . Pine has a similar pattern but is not as colorful and is harder to work with than poplar.
One of those bowls pays for the whole board that I bought that I can get 16 bowls out of that size .
These are the ones that take less than an hour each to make because there are a lot less stages than with laminated or segmented ones .
