try ring burning.

im not shur if anny one has tried this yet. but if not here it is.
is you have a warn out peace of 600 grit to anny higher it becomese duller then when you sterted. you can use this to caws ring burning. just aply constant preashure to the sandpaper until you see smoke. the efect is great!

you have to be careful though. the wood may crack...

but if you can get just right it can look great.

J, no matter where you are on the IAP site, if you want to post something,

go to the first blue line with words printed in white
the 3rd word, "Forum" will give you a list of other forums

"Introductions" is just one forum. "Penturning" is another and "Show Off Your Pens/SOYP" is another. Choose whatever forum you feel is appropriate. Then you just start a new thread for you opneing post. Take some time and browse through the forum topics and you can get a better idea of what each talks about . . . in general.

If you can't use a spell check in IE then you could type up your post in word or something that has a spellcheck and then copy and paste it. Just a suggestion as sometimes my spelling really stinks too.
