Was at my local Rockler and trolled the sale shelf of wood blocks. Found a Tamboti block, 7x7x3, price was right so it came home with me. This is what was hiding inside!

Charles, thanks! I'll keep that in mind...you might have to fight my wife for it though. Maybe I can distract her with the next bowl!

Bob, it's Behlen Woodturners Finish. Sanded first to 600, I usually don't go beyond that except on pens, then a couple coats of Behlens.
