I hear of people stabilizing blanks and was wondering what the process is in doing this? I know to use thin CA when you hit a punky spot but is there more to this? I can see blanks on e-bay that were stabilized and even dyed and really never figured out what they mean. Fill me in please.

As far as I know, all stabilization requires pressure to voice chemicals into the wood fiber.

Stabilizing does not necessarily require pressure. In fact, in home stabilizing, the amount of pressure we are able to achieve does not do much good. Vacuum does the majority of the work.

Lazerlinez does indeed offer professional stabilizing as a service and Constant is a great guy. He has the equipment to achieve 5,000 psi of pressure after he does a vacuum cycle. This does aid in penetration of the stabilizing resin in some woods.
