So, I STILL couldn't figure out what to do with that centerband that didn't match up to the black & gold pen. I showed it to my 8 year old. She went and picked out the maple burl for it, and then found the frog decal and said "Hey, this matches it!" She helped with the roughing gouge (Supervised) and did the last part of the micromesh. Presto! Part of my soul is no longer dead as I finally found a use for a great centerband. Both the acrylic for the centerband and the maple burl are thanks to Bobalu's present for me at the Georgia meeting.
