salt/pepper mill shaft question

I have several salt and pepper mills kits of various length and I can see there is a slight difference in the appearance of the shaft. Are the shafts design specifically to work with only 1 type of mill and shouldn't be interchanged? I look back in my email history from my order and all it doesn't specify. Anyone know?

Yes, the salt shafts are anodized to keep the salt from corroding the metal.

so that you give the shaft a textured look then right?

IMO it is "duller" looking, but I wouldn't call it textured--but that's our mills, I don't know that your supplier is the same.
