Been looking to turn one of these for a while. Is there a special mandrel required to turn the handles with closed ends? I've seen the Mach 3's with the chrome fittings on both ends and some safety razors finished in the same way.

I haven't turned mine yet but here is the plan. I will chuck up the blank and drill the correct size hole in one end. The coupling is glued into this hole. My plan then calls for putting the live center in the tail stock and into the hole I just drilled. Now turn to the desired contour, sand and finish then part off.
I wasn't sure the strength of the glue joint so Captain Rusty made me a threaded coupler to glue into the blank. I plan to tackle this job next week. Good luck.
