1937 and 1995 Naval Academy issue stamps and 1945 Iwo Jima stamp with Iwo Jima sand.

This was a gift for our retiring XO, Naval Academy fa, er I mean Grad. Despite his being a "boat schooler/canoe U" type, he truly was one of the finest Marines I have had the pleasure to serve with in 22+ years.

Pictures suck - its hot, we have no power and I usually don't care about the pics all that much anyway...less today.

Thanks, I have a new way of adhering the sand...a lot less complex then I started with. I am also really digging the sand/stamp combo.

Well, you are doing a great job, keep it up! I would really like to see you improve on different ways to incorporate that sand in those pens/pen boxes, I think its a great idea.

He was floored... I really think he liked it.

Best/classiest retirement ceremony I have ever attended. The best comment was from the retiring official, he stated that Dave made everyone feel that they were his best friend and we would all fight to determine which one was his best, best friend. He was and is a truly amazing person and stellar Marine.

At the end, he had a bell rung and asked permission to go ashore...freaking dust got in my eye just about then.

I have been using silver hi temp engine paint... I really need to fire up my powder coat system.

I did stop by the sales section of the Marine Corps Museum and showed her this one and my Iwo Jima one from the casting contest...they dug them. i need to send them costing/pricing info, but I think I can get these in to make a bit of money back from all that I donate/give away.
