Thanks to Eaglesc, I have modified my press per a past conversation. His Idea of the step was used, kept trying to hold the step and the pen and....

So... First the New and Improved Rough Prototype... Using a Turret to aid in different length parts to be pressed. The turret is held with a 1/4 - 20 screw, tapped into the Corian Base... Easily moves from one position to another...

Grizzly sold these presses, some left the sticker on, it's a paper punch, put a die in it, go through 50 sheets...

First Photo New Prototype, second Photo The Old Prototype and Arbor Press...

No Problem. It was an idea we all discussed months ago...

Finally, all coming together...

Started with pressing in my woodworkers vise, move to the arbor press, and now onto the enhanced pen press.

Just out of curiosity, what did it cost to ship that monster to Alaska?
BTW.That press you have in the backround, the horizontal one.
I thought of taking a $10.00 nut craker cuting it and making apress out of that when I first started turning pens.
My wife wouldn't let me do it.
She collects pecans in the fall and sends them to the relatives up North for Holiday baking.
For the special touch, she shells them first. Our Daughter helps.

Eaglesc, I'm your lost cousin John, living in Anchorage, send Pecans...[:I]

Yes, the Nutcracker was an idea that didn't come to fruition...[8D]

Grizzly sends heavy items on the Barge and they take about 6 weeks...
So actually it was USPS Parcel Post... [8D]

Grizzly doesn't charge special fees for shipping to Alaska... Just Regular Parcel Post Rate...[:)]

The Barge is from Seattle to Anchorage...
Barges have been lost in High Seas and Bad Weather...[:(]

No problem. I tapped the Corian Base Plate, 1/4-20 for a screw, so the turret assembly would revolve. [8D]

Arbor Press is next to get revolving turret... The "anvil" part went into a drawer... May actually need an arbor press one day, or when I sell it...[8D]
