On our last trip to the wood store my daughter picks up this piece of wood from the bin. It has orange paint on one side and the other side was burned from a saw blade. It looked like a letter L and she wanted it. We ge to the checkout counter and they tell her it is free and she brings it home. It made it to out picnic table and has been sitting there for 3 weeks. I started looking at it and saw some potential.

Last week I got wrangled into a secret Santa at one of my clients. I found out that the person I was giving the gift to was a wine drinker. I turned this tonight. It has a half dozen coats of friction polish and two coats of Meguires car polish. I hope he likes it.

Nice! I'd never have use for a wine stopper, or the bottle for that matter so I can't tell you if that's great in that particular arena, but nice woodworking, and nice score on the free material!
