One of my favourite cuisines is Japanese.

One afternoon after clearing out my renovated workshop I found bits and piece of timber - bound to happen after all the penturning... So I decided to make my own set of Sushi Trays.

Timber combinations I've used are:

Huon Pine & Jarra

Queensland Maple & Tasmanian Blackwood

Pretty simple and very useful chowing down on Japanese dishes!

I've added the project plan and step-by-step video on my blog - Sushi Trays « TimberBits Blog

Excellent project. I wonder if turning a small off-center 'bowl' into one corner would be a nice touch -- a dipping bowl, as it were?
