Playing with Loofah

Been playing with dyes and paints on the Loofah prior to casting, then trying different coloured tubes to see how they go. Not happy with some of the results, there is never a guarantee of the Loofah's density, and I've learnt the hard way not to use oil based paints when casting with PR :frown:



Anyway, here they are.

• Black/silver Sierra with white painted Loofah on black tube
• Two-tone silver Sierra with gold painted Loofah on white tube
• Two-tone silver Sierra with blue dyed Loofah on white tube
• Two-tone copper Sierra with pink dyed Loofah on white tube
• Two-tone copper Sierra with orange dyed Loofah on white tube
• Black/silver Sierra with black painted Loofah on white tube

• Silver Cigar with white painted Loofah on black tube
• Black Ti Cigar with black painted Loofah on silver tube
• Gold Cigar with gold painted Loofah on black tube
• Black Ti Cigar with red dyed Loofah on black tube
• Two-tone copper Cigar with red dyed Loofah on white tube

...how do you dye the loofah?

Just soak the dried Loofah in a water based dye (I used mainly ubeaut, but I have others) then redry.

Looks pretty sweet to me. I think they turned out pretty darn good.

I think the ones with the black tubes look better than the white tubes. Overall, nice pens though.
