I finally got done shoveling snow and got in a little shop time.
The salt shaker is not a grinder . Just an ordinary salt shaker. I turned it somewhat the same shape as the pepper mill to make a matched pair.
Second picture shown rotated a quarter turn

I really like that light / dark diagonal pattern. The colors are nicely in theme with salt and pepper and the diagonals look great.

Are they Maple and Walnut?

They are aspen and walnut.
I will be buying maple for future ones because it is a harder wood than aspen

Haven't been on the old computer much lately what with visiting relatives and helping neighbors cut firewood etc . But I did manage to get a little more shop time in.
When I laminated the wood for the pepper mill and salt shaker shown at the onset of this thread I did some extra lengths while I was at it and found I had enough to just barely do another set.

When I was in at the coffee shop in town yesterday I took the first set for a little show and tell and one of my friends in the coffee group bought them. So here is set number two.

Ten inch pepper mill and eight inch salt shaker.
