pen types

This may be a dumb question, but I need help in this area. What is the difference between a roller ball pen, ball point pen and a gel pen?

I seems that I have always used a ball point pen or a felt tip pen. Long ago I used a fountain pen and remember how they work.

Can anyone help?

All three use a rolling ball at the end of a tube of ink. The difference is in the ink. Have a look HERE for a good description of the inks used in each type.
