Pen Gift For A Friend

I finally got back in my shop after being sick and then going on a long trip out east to visit relatives. A friend in Dawson Creek, BC, had sent me a large box of cutoffs of birch burl which he was using for making bandsaw boxes. So I made a few pens out of a tiny portion of it yesterday and assembled them this morning when the finish had cured over night. This one is going in the mail to him on Monday morning as a gift. I used black hardware on this one and a purpleheart centre band. The burl design is not a strong point in this one but it has some beautifull luminance rays that dont show in the picture.
