Pen Box - Walnut & Spalted Holly

This was my last project for 2011.

I had a small thin slab of spalted holly that was too nice for the scrap bin. Added some walnut for the sides and felt covered MDF for the insert.

Comments welcome.

Wow...! I'll bet it took you longer to make the box than the pen? But they look stunning together...! Nicely done...

You are correct. The box required a little more time. :biggrin: But, it was fun to make.

I made to box to use the piece of holly. I did not originally plan to use this pen with the box. It is the pen that was in my pocket the first time I showed it to someone. The pen and box have been together since.

The pen is a Spalted Maple Amalgamutt Jr. Gent II.
