Palm Leaves

Do you think it's possible to get palm leaves, like you get on Palm Sunday, to stick on a tube without them cracking and tearing?

I would think that if you had the tube or a rod the O.D. of the tube. Then cut some pieces of GREEN palm leaves, placed them on the tube and then wound say gauze or fabric strips or what is called basting tape tightly around the leaves and tubes let dry. They should take the shape of the curve on the tube.
You would have to gently remove the wrap slide the tube out and then glue to the pen tube.
That is the way I would do it, then when dry it could be cast in tinted or clear resin.
