I cut this from a tree that had been felled by the county doing road work. It sat for 8 months before I attacked it and spalted. I roughed it February of last year, and nearly finished it tonight...it needs some sanding still, such as to get rid of the nub in the base (I mounted it between centers to finish it) and the inside is a bit rough.

Flooded and wiped with BLO to get an idea of what it will look like. I'm digging the burl and crotch swirling. Also nice spalting.

Thanks!

A hair under 9" wide and 1.5" tall. This is my first platter and the Missus wants to put potpourri in it!
