I stumbled across this PDF in the library. I have a couple ideas for pens that will require something like this. In the doc he files down 8mm stock to fit a 7mm tube. I did some experimenting with a 1/4" bolt last night. It fits in my pen mandrel holder from PSI just fine. I tested several random pen tubes. Some fit, others are tight. With a little sanding I think it will work to then file down and add the o-ring. I also think that if I leave the threads on the end of a bolt, it won't be hard to drill and tap bar stock for larger tubes that I can thread onto the end of a bolt.

If you are going to do this it is better to use a HF punch set, they are much more precise than bolts and not very expensive + all the sizes.
