Only had time to turn half a pen tonight. Funny thing is I don't know what material it is ;)... can anyone tell me (or want to take a guess)???

Hint: it's not plastic or wood...

Kevin,

What I liked are the ones I saw turned into Lamp shade covers!!! They are so thin they are translucent! Very nice indeed. Again, I saw this on one of the modern master's episodes.

This stuff turns very easy. You need to scrap in order to cut the material but it goes very quickly. Also drilled with no issues.

The only real question is how to finish the material. I bought some wax but I also used CA to fill any cracks and Mylan's friction polish over the CA and before the wax. I am sure there is a better way.

I actually bought pen blank sized materials but this cuts very easy on a band saw so you can buy larger pieces and cut it down. I am going to get more and try some other shapes.
