My boss, a pen fanatic, asked me to bring in a few new feathered pens. Im still working on others but wanted to share what Ive completed so far. The first is a Reeves Pheasant Hen. The second is a Reeves Pheasant Rooster, the Third is a Tragopan Pheasant and the last is a Blue Pheasant. The Blue pheasant is a bit dark. The resin darkens feathers and the glowing blue and purple tips only show at a very sharp angle.

The last pen is for a friend at work who asked if I could make him a cigar feather pen. I was worried about the thin resin at the tip but it all worked out well for being the first one. All comments welcome. Thanks, John

What a beautiful grouping John!! Your feather pens are always so wonderful!

LOL I guess I'm the maverick in the group though..as it's the Tragopan that did me in!

I also like that one, just as it such a different colour to the others! Also the Reeves rooster is nicely coloured!! As always though the original pheasant feathers on the cigar are stunning!

As before, I love your work with the feathers. I'm partial to the Hen feathers, just because they are "fuzzier" and don't look so buttoned down. They look more 3 dimensional, at least in the photo's. But as for the blanks, nothing shows off the artistry like the two piece pens. I'm not sure why, but when you go to the extra work of matching up a two piece blank, it's not just twice as impressive, it's impressive squared.

And they are turned and finished nicely too :)
