Great workbench. I've been drawing plans for a new workbench for some time. What material did you use for the work surface?

The workbench top is actually a solid core door 32x80 with a piece of hardboard over it. I made a "frame" around the door to hold the hardboard in place. When the hardboard gets damaged, I can replace it with another.

I got the door at Home Depot for about $52. I figured that was probably cheaper and easier than trying to layer MDF or plywood to make my own top thick enough.

really nice! do you know where i can buy the plans for the workbench? i like the way yours turned out. it would be great for a pen turning station when i remodel my shop in a few months..............bear
