Well, yesterday I bought the Aluminite mini casting kit, built a mold box out of 0.040 styrene, mixed the silicone and poured it. This morning I removed the mold and cast some blanks. 1 is a solid red/pink, one is a mint green metallic with some black swirling, the 3rd is oats cast in uncolored resin and finally a black/red swirl. Some notes on this kit: The amount of silicone is perfect for a 1.25x1.25x6 mold box with a .75x.75x5 cavity. The aluminite kicks fast and sets in less than 10 minutes. The resin sets to a tan color. It was extremely easy, I hot glued the mold box together and glued a piece of wood in the bottom. Here are the pics.

I also just did a pasta cast. I'm not sure how its gonna turn out because I don't have a pressure pot/chamber(yet), so I'll turn it and see what happens. It's still in the mold.

Sweet! I am just about to my my mold and start casting pr with colors.
Have fun when you get started! But if I were you, I would order about twice the amount of resin you think you need to, because even though I have only cast 5 blanks, I can tell you it's addictive! Also, be sure to keep the dye/resin of of your parents nwe table cloth! DAMHIKT

nice Cast. I made my first cast this week too. My fingers are still pink and blue form the alluminate dye that spilled. which is really ironic considering the huge box of rubber gloves 18" above my work space.

I can easily see how fun this can be.
