I've been busily going through my pile of blanks and marking them all for tracking purposes. On the last blank I turned, which was pretty narrow and a bit off centre, the marks from the marker were barely removed by the time I got it down to thickness - so maybe there are some residual maker chemicals close to the surface.
I'm wondering if there could be any effect from residual bleeding of the marker solvents into the finish. For most of the pens I marked them with a CD and photo safe marker pen, but I also use a Sharpie pen.
