A coworkers son is in the military. He wants to know is I can make a pen from a M60 caseing. Can anyone tell me what size a M60 caseing is and if anyone has attempted a pen from one. I have made a few caseing pens so far so i know the process. I can't find a M60 caseing at midway so I don't know the specs.

.308 It's a standard round and it is used often for pens.

Actual designation is 7.62mm nato but commercially it's known as the .308

The casing from a round fired out of the M60 is the NATO standard 7.62mm round. It can also be fired from a M240 machine gun, M14 rifle, and several different sniper rifles (though match grade ammo is used in these). It is basically a .308 casing.
