This is a Red Oak I picked up today from a tree service I have never worked with, they do a lot of crane removals that means big logs and tight places.A bunch of nice hard working guys in the crew I hope to work with them a lot in the future. This log scales at like 650 board feet/40" diameter at the small end inside the bark/10'8" long.weighs in at 7900 lbs. she is a monster.I hope this is not the one that kills me,haha. Two of my nephews are in a couple pictuers makes the liitel guy(5 years old)look tiny. What do you think>I'm crazier then you all thought I was ah,lol. Thanks for looking,Victor

I am remembering an old cartoon where they put a redwood on a lathe and make a toothpick. Then the next redwood is put on the lathe and they make another toothpick...

Sounds like you have some great friends.

You're making me miss Pa. where I use to cut red/white oaks that size and larger on my saw mill. Cut some of the nicest lumber I've ever seen from some of those large logs like yours.

Good luck with your lumber yield on that one.
