Leave to me to find the dove tail used to join two pieces of German Ebonite together. I've been sanding and sanding trying to get rid of a line in the stem (of the next pipe I'm making) and came across this. You can see the blatant "square" of the dovetail at the connection of the stem to the shaft of the pipe. I cant believe it.

I'm taking it as this is something you did not want to do... sorry.

No, I didn't want this to happen. Kind of like a dovetail showing up in the middle of a pen blank. You would think that a rod of ebonite would be a solid piece and not be joined together with another piece. First time I ever ran across anything like this.

UGH!!!! I just realize what I did. I sanded into the delrin rod I glued in as the tenon. Question now is.. Do I make another stem, or live with what I have. This pipe won't be for sale and is for personal use. We'll see tomorrow I guess. Stupid me for thinking there was a dovetail in there! LOL!
