It's taken nearly a year but I finally got the cupboards done. Still to do - paint the walls, replace the arborite counter and new floor. I'll do the painting but the countertop and floor I'll get someone else to do. Cupboards are done in white ash and baltic birch plywood with water based gloss poly. Not counting the range hood I have about $700 invested so far. My father gave me a nice Christmas gift this year and I put $50 with it and got the range hood. It was designed for wall mount but a little thought, some threaded rod and silver solder and I have an island mount.. Saved $300-$400 over buying an island mount.
If you want to look I posted the pictures on my website to keep file here small, in order of old view, same spot new view etc. (flash slideshow)
