Does it smell like deer antler when drilling? Curious.....

If you keep your bit sharp and go slow, cleaning the flutes out every so often, then it doesn't get to hot or smell that bad. It's when the marrow inside the pith gets hot that it starts to smell bad. For me the smell isn't really that bad.
