New forum member and new wood turner from North Texas, Fort Worth area. I am just learning to turn and my best friend has been teaching me and I am hooked! I inherited my wifes grandfathers lathe and tools, let me say that old lathes are awesome. It runs true and is so smooth. Just ordered a new set of hurricane tools, some old craftsmans were with the lathe but I needed a new roughing gouge and I liked the longer handles of the hurricane and the bargain price for what you get. Happy Turning!!!

Welcome from down I35 in San Antonio.
Save those old Craftsman tools to use for learning and practicing sharpening. Better to wear those down practicing than a better set of tools.
Have fun!
