Hard Nylon

So there I was at a Plastic Supply vendor looking through the scrap pile and came across this very dense cream colored composite material. The guy at the counter said it was hard nylon. Has anyone ever tried to turn this stuff. Looks like a good alternate ivory. I tried to rip on table saw but the blade speed caused it to melt and burn. Just curious if anyone has seen or used this stuff.

I've never tried to turn it, but I've done other things with it. I don't know of any glue that will stick well to it though.
