My dad made a grandfather clock, very much like that about 40 years ago---still chiming loudly when I go to visit them.

Beautiful work---great chimes during the day---at midnight, not so much, if you WERE sleeping!!!

Well that is I'm sure going to be my first and last. quite a job and very trying if you know what I mean.................

LOL! I saw one a few years ago that was almost all glass with oak and brass accents. Very chic and elegent. Damn thing must have been HEAVY the glass was all 1/2 inch thick. it stood about 7 feet tall. I'd love to make a somewhat smaller version. Never seen another one like it. Someday I'll find plans or a picture for one like it and give it a go.
