A bakers dozen carved and airbrushed eggs I've done in the last few weeks. All will be handed out either as memorials for my cousin Sarah (The Roses) or as Christmas presents. Already give out two that never made the photo.

Bought a Sheffield Cake Knife blade un-handled. Turned a Bloodwood Handle. This was a special request as a Christmas Present.

Beautiful job. What do you use to carve the eggs?

Dave

Thanks, I use an NSK Presto which is a high speed (320,000RPM) air tool made for the dental industry. Another tool often used for this is the Turbo Carver.

These tools both use 1/16" shank carbide dental burs

Did you see those eggs? WOW! I have trouble not breaking an oak blank and Eric handles empty eggs, and then carves them and paints on the outside. And they said Superman had nerves of steel! Beautiful work on the eggs and the knife looks good as well. Congratulations.

Thanks all!

Charlie - It's really not as hard to carve eggs as you might think. With the right tool, the carving process is quite risk free. So far I've carved 30+ eggs and have not broken a single one.
