Wow, very cool! What are the blade and frame made with? Measurments?

It is Stingray knife blank from Premiumknife supply
440c steel, 3" blade. Only one scale needed.

First I made scales 2,8 mm thick (~1/10"). Notice that color of bog ivory changes dramatically on scale sides:

s640x480

s640x480

As you may know, mammoth ivory very unstable. Scale bents.
So I glue it on textolite (micarta) scale 0,5 mm tick (1/50").

It is sideview:

Mammoth ivory scales on itself not turn any knife to masterpiece.
Custom knife must be of very elaborate work, to worth $2000. Or must be made by famous master.

My knife - it is just $10 blank with ivory scrap scales.

Of course, it is unique knife with my handycrafted scales. It was hard work and result is unique and beautyful. But i worth much less then $2000. :)
