This is the first peek in to a 74" Mesquite Burl that was given to me last week. I really need to get a bigger lathe and better tools this was turned on my Rikon (just cleared the bed) with a fingernail gouge, It has some very soft spots where the wood is starting to decay. It has been power sanded to 300 and has a poly wipe on finish, after it hardens I plan to give it a few coats of spray on poly also.

Thanks for looking. :)

That's really cool, and that wood is beautiful. If you're ever looking to parlay some of that burl into a trade of some sort just send me a PM.
