Made my first americano this morning out of a deer antler with black titanium hardware. It's way sweet, feels great, works great, writes like a cadillac compared to the slims and cigars. I also knocked out a Thuya Burl, and a Tulipwood with Wenge/Holly stripe slims. All three with CA finish, buffed and waxed. Finished that penholder too. It was supposed to be a Vase with a deep rolled rim, but right before it was finished...like the 99.9% done..I caught a chisel and blew it off the lathe. So I had to shave off the majority of the rim to salvage it into something, so now it's a pen cup. It's not a dissapointment, it's a learning experience.
