Engagement ring

A friend at work wanted to do something different when he proposed to his girlfriend. He asked me about making an engagement ring out of wood. It is cocobolo. He loved it and so does his girlfriend, now fiancee.

Funny thing is I haven't even come up with a price for him yet.

Yeah, we thought of that but she has been using a cocobolo pen for a few months now with no reaction. I did my best to seal it as much as I could too.

It's beautiful, very nice grains and colors on the Cocobolo, very rich looking. Great job!

Nice job. What did you use to finish it?

I used walnut oil and several coats of friction polish on the outside (before parting it off). I used walnut oil on the inside.
