In general I find that most restaurants will happily take your meal back if it isn't satisfactory and either replace it or take it off your bill. That being said, I am not a picky eater so I rarely send anything back. The last time I did though it was at Bob Evans and the soup arrived cold....I sent it back and before it returned the waitress brought my entre...it was cold too so I sent it back then she brought the entre back (still cold) and asked if I'd like my soup "take out". So I asked her to bring the manager around. I told the manager that I would like my meal hot and presented in the usual order soup then entre. The manager assured me that would happen, and it did. Then although I would happily have paid the manager came by and said my meal would be free and gave me a coupon good for another free meal. Since that was an isolated incident I of course still go there fairly often (actually we go there often enough that the managers all get to know us).
