Dang! Now I have to make new sleds and fixtures.

My father has slowed down his woodworking over recent years.

So, when he suggested I trade tables saws with him, I said: "But Dad, then I will have to make all new sleds and fixtures."

NOT!!!

This morning I carted my contracter's size table saw to his house and brought back this.

I'm pumped. I am ready to get to work.

Driving away from my parents' house, I notice this oak tree in the front yard of a house. This is an old tree, at least 5' in diameter at the trunk. These burls are 15' - 20' off up the trunk. The larger one is at least 4' accross.

Sorry for the pitiful pic. I was using my cell phone.

Now we are tryin to find who owns the property and see how we might get at these burls.

This one is 25-30 years old. It has probably only made a half dozen cuts in the past ten years.
